SUZANNE NYHAGEN ADAMS, M.A. Licensed Psychologist-Master

Suzanne Nyhagen Adams is the Founder and Clinical Director of The Adams Center for Mind and Body. Ms. Adams is a Licensed Psychologist-Master with a specialization in the treatment of eating disorders and post traumatic stress disorder. She has a B.S. degree from the University of Vermont in Dietetics, as well as a Master of Arts on Counseling Psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School.

Sue is a Certified EMDR therapist and has developed a protocol utilizing EMDR and Reiki Therapy that has proven most beneficial in her practice, particularly in the treatment of bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. By incorporating both of these modalities, clients are noticing changes much more quickly than with the more traditional psychotherapies alone.

Sue is also a DNMS therapist. These protocols are proving to be a beneficial tool in her practice. To learn more about these amazing techniques please visit the DNMS Institute website.

Suzanne views the Adams Center for Mind and Body as a work-in-progress, evolving from formal education and experience in the field. The Adams Center for Mind and Body is a place where both psychotherapy and body work are available onsite for clients who would benefit. In recognizing the importance of including the physical body in the psychotherapy process, she plans to institute more services to keep pace with the growing empirical evidence of treatment efficacy with the use of complementary therapies partnered with more traditional methods.
