JOYCE CELLARS, M.A.

Joyce Cellars, M.A., is a multiculturally competent and trauma-informed Rostered Psychotherapist at The Adams Center for Mind and Body. Joyce earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California, Berkeley. She went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado.

Joyce moved to Vermont in 2009. Before her career in mental health, she worked in nonprofit fundraising, supporting local farms and food systems. She is passionate about helping clients align their relationship with food and their bodies with how they want to live and feel in the world.

Joyce provides clients with the opportunity to explore and learn more about themselves, ultimately living their values. She is a calm, curious, and compassionate “fellow traveler” on her clients’ healing journeys. While each session may vary based on individual needs and goals, Joyce helps clients cultivate healthy relationships with themselves and others, identify patterns that no longer serve them, and find peace and calm throughout life’s joys and challenges.

Joyce loves spending time outdoors and is interested in the benefits of nature-informed therapy. She practices LGBTQIA+ affirming care. In addition to working individually with clients, Joyce also practices as part of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with fellow therapists and on-site dieticians to support clients in the outpatient eating disorder programs offered at The Adams Center.
