MICHAEL BJELLA,  M.A.

Michael Bjella is a Rostered Psychotherapist in the state of Vermont. He joins the Adams Center for Mind and Body after completing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from State University of New York – Plattsburgh in 2025. Michael holds additional degrees from McGill University (M.A.) and The New School (B.A.). Since August 2024, he has interned as a psychotherapist at a community health clinic, working with individuals, groups, and families of diverse presentations and ages.

Michael’s therapeutic approach is person-centered at its core, integrating mindfulness practices, existential meaning-making, and gained insight into personal patterns through a holistic understanding of past and present experiences. This is done through trauma-informed and evidence-based practices. Michael enjoys and is committed to collaborative work with all clients, regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or race.

Michael has a wide breadth of experience as a musical clinician, performer, and public school educator. In working with students, fellow teachers, and parents, he became increasingly drawn towards understanding the human condition from a psychological and mental health lens. This led him to pursue and complete a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and to join the Adams Center, working as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team.
