EVAN CRANDELL, L.C.M.H.C.

Evan Crandell is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of Vermont. He earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University New England. In August 2022, he began working as a counseling intern, and then as a Rostered Clinician, at The Adams Center for Mind and Body.  Evan is thrilled to continue as part of the Clinical Team at The Adams Center as a Licensed Psychotherapist.

Fundamentally, Evan uses a humanistic, person-centered approach to therapy with the notion that clients are the foremost experts in their own lives. He views his role as helping to facilitate healing processes that are embedded within each client. Of utmost importance in uncovering these strengths within clients is establishing and maintaining a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship, which Evan does through authenticity, curiosity, and a healthy dose of humor.

With this foundation, he explores patterns and themes from clients’ past and present experiences in developmentally and culturally appropriate ways to identify the most effective methods of growth and change. At the Adams Center, Evan collaborates with the multidisciplinary team of professionals to cater treatment plans to meet the diverse and unique needs of each client.

Evan embraces diversity in every sense of the word and prides himself on working with individuals, couples, and families of all ages and backgrounds. He perpetually strives for multi-cultural competence as a therapist through self-reflection, research, nurturing the therapeutic relationship, and advocacy.

With a background in music education, Evan strongly believes in the therapeutic power of the arts and considers himself a life-long learner, continually exploring the ways in which psychological concepts intertwine with the arts. Additionally, he plans to attain further training in helping those who have experienced trauma as well as disordered eating.
