ALIX LINDENBAUM,  M.A.

Alix Lindenbaum is a multiculturally competent and trauma-informed Rostered Psychotherapist, Certified Yoga Teacher, and Reiki Practitioner. Alix earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Vermont, where she studied Psychology and Art History. She went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University.

Alix received her TEOFL/TESL certificate from Maximo Nivel, where she taught English in Peru for a year, before returning to the Vermont, working as an early childhood educator for four years. She earned her 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training and 15-hour Restorative Teacher Training from Sangha Studio as well as her 15-hr kid’s Teacher Training from Spark Youth Yoga.

Alix is an intuitive and heart-centered therapist, rooted in evidence-based practices. With a therapeutic relationship founded on trust and mutuality, She will meet the client where they are while challenging them to explore and reflect on deeper truths. Guided by life experience and personal insight gained on her own healing journey, Alix employs a holistic approach to therapy, intentionally integrating mind, body and spirit into the therapeutic process.

Alix’s approach weaves together Rogerian concepts of unconditional acceptance, non-judgement and empathy with Mindfulness, Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy, Parts work, Developmental Theory, CBT and DBT. She works collaboratively with clients to set goals for treatment, while providing a container for the development of internal resources, self-worth and empowerment.

In addition to working individually with clients, Alix also practices as part of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with fellow therapists and on-site dieticians to support clients in the outpatient eating disorder programs offered at The Adam’s Center.
